You Don't Just Wake Up One Day With Cancer

You don’t just wake up chronically ill one day. There is a huge difference between acute illnesses and chronic illnesses. As far as acute illnesses and injuries, I’ll hand it to the allopathic doctors—they’ve got a really great grasp on that. The Western world, specifically the United States, is the place to be if one is suddenly afflicted by an acute illness or injury. We have the best surgeons in the world, as even the Elites flock to American soil for the most critical conditions. Acute illnesses that people in other countries die from are immediately identified here and promptly taken care of. The doctors are great at identifying the one-size-fits-all textbook symptoms of infections. Anyone who has ever had pneumonia can attest to the idea that after suffering with a lung infection that inhibits breathing and makes one feel like they’re going to die—and then BAM!—the doctor immediately diagnoses the infection and cures it with antibiotics or what-have-you, the doctor seems like a angel straight from God sent to save our lives. However, there is a vast discrepancy in how the Western doctors treat acute illnesses and injuries… … …and chronic illnesses.
You Don't Just Wake Up One Day Fat.
You Don't Just Wake Up One Day With Vitamin D3 Deficiency.
You Don't Just Wake Up One Day With Heart Disease.
You Don't Just Wake Up One Day With Chronic Fatigue.
You Don't Just Wake Up One Day Infertile or Impotent.
...And You Certainly Don't Just Wake Up One Day With Cancer...

You don’t just wake up chronically ill one day. You don’t just wake up and say, “Ah, noooo…I must’ve picked up cancer.” The same with Type 2 Diabetes, Adrenal Fatigue, Vitamin D3 Deficiency, Infertility, Erectile Dysfunction, Obesity, etc… you don’t just wake up one day fat, pale, and tired with problems in the bedroom. God made us all so that we could live healthy lives that are deeply fulfilling and complete with unique gifts to hone and re-gift back to the world towards its betterment. One of the ways that God takes care of us is through His bounty–the Nutrition in the Foods that we eat, and the way in which we absorb them.

All chronic diseases are due to some sort of deficiency or Malnourishment, which is either the result of poor dietary habits or Mal-Absorption issues. While deficiencies are usually thought of as due to a lack of a nutrition, vitamin, or mineral in the diet, the deficiency can also stem from the Mind. Remember, Holistic Medicine treats the WHOLE body, as everything in our bodies is an interconnected system that depends on one another like the angles of an equilateral triangle, which has all three angles at an equal 60-degrees. If one angle begins to become more acute or more obtuse, the triangle completely changes form and the other angles must compensate for this, resulting in an entirely different shape.

I like to liken this to “being out of shape,” in regards to fitness, or responding to a state of health inquiry by saying we’re “in bad shape.” When we are out of shape, we often think of a measurement of our levels of fitness. If we can’t run a certain distance without cramping up or achieving rhythmic breathing as we warm up, we are considered, “out of shape.” However, being “out of shape” physically relates to all three angles of our triangle of healthiness—the angle of Body, the angle of Mind, and the angle of Spirit. I am using this to help you realize that the Mind can have a deficiency. A deficiency in Self-Confidence or Self-Esteem or even a deficiency of Time and Happiness can in turn cause a physical deficiency, in that you might be too depressed to want to get out there and exercise or do things you used to love doing but do not do anymore.

This can change the way our bodies absorb nutrients from the foods that we eat, and it can also cause hormones to be released, such as Cortisol and Adrenaline, that keep our bodies systems on “CODE RED ALERT!” When this happens, our body is zapped of important minerals like Zinc, Magnesium, and Calcium, and also it will use up our Iron stores, among other things. We will not absorb the essential Vitamins that we need from food because of malabsorption issues in the digestive system, which is unfortunately, akin to being the innocent bystander to a drive-by shooting that is the anxiety, depression, or grief in our Minds and Spirit. As this happens, the body begins to compensate for lack or perhaps for overstimulation on one angle, and the triangle begins to lose its perfect shape. This doesn’t just happen overnight, and it certainly isn’t something that is treated with a pill.

3 Steps Towards A New Contract With Life

These deficiencies are issues that are a long-time in the making, and they require these steps:

  1. To ADMIT that you are not living a life that you love, or that you are in resistance to living the life you know you were meant to live. Maybe you don’t feel like you don’t deserve a better life, or maybe you’re living life the way that society has told you is acceptable, despite knowing there’s so much more than “This.”
  2. To BE UNAFRAID TO REACH OUT. You might feel like doctors or family are telling you that “it’s all in your head.” NO, it’s not. You are feeling this way for a reason. And chances are, you have been feeling this way for a LONG TIME. Can you even remember the last time you woke up feeling energized and refreshed, and ready to “seize the day?” It’s time to stop hiding the fact that you’re not feeling up to par with who you used to be, and to reach out.
  3. To KNOW THAT WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU. We at AskMarissa treat each of our clients as though they were ourselves. After all, we are all in this together on this particular journey. The more people who are feeling optimal, healthy, and happy, the more the world will begin to reflect this. We believe that the world is in the chronic state of upheaval is because humans at large are in a chronic state of upheaval regarding their health from a Holistic perspective. We need to restore our triangle of Health to its three, perfect 60-degree angles so that it’s strong and sturdy enough to withstand anything in Life—including whatever it is you are going through right now, whether it’s weight management issues, cancer, chronic fatigue, adrenal fatigue, stress, infertility, depression, pain, grief, digestive disorders–ANYTHING.
