About
Where can we start with Marissa’s expertise? By the age of 15, she was a Junior National as a shooting guard in Basketball. By age 18, she was the starting Right Wing for the #9 Women’s NCAA Soccer Team in the United States. At age 20, she was on her way to represent the United States as a Heptathlete in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Instead of pursuing a life as a professional athlete, she gave it up to try to experience more of life as a normal college kid. Even as a 41-year-old female, she still manages to run the 400m in under 60s and a 100 at 12.8s, and still boasts a 36-inch running vertical leap (although in high school and university, she could do 36″ from a standing point).
And she does it all as a Vegetarian. She one day realized that there is no need for excess Protein, and that Protein is not a source of fuel, but rather a waste product when in excess of more than what is necessary for our individual daily needs.
She truly proves that age is not a factor in keeping fit and healthy no matter what the circumstances! Each day we should all give thanks to God that we have been Blessed with the abilities we have. As challenging as it is in this day and age of endless hardship, we should still always look forward to so much more, so long as we show promise and dedication towards our Health and Fitness goals by using our bodies and minds the way we were Naturally intended to do by God.
She also has vast experience counseling clients with eating disorders, exercise addiction, OCD, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. She is committed to finding a Holistic Approach to helping people overcome addictions to alcohol and drugs, loneliness, boredom, anxiety, and other stresses that affect all of us at some time in our lives which disable us from living up to our best potential and reaching the highest versions of ourselves each given day. Her ethnic and experiential background enables her to be an extremely effective social worker who is comfortable counseling diverse groups of people in several languages.
